Mother’s Day is quickly approaching so today I thought I would round up some gift ideas. I have a wide range of items at varying price points so there is something for everyone:
I also have a few out of the box and more personalized ideas below. These are always good options for the mom that already has everything or loves something unique. Over the winter holidays, I created a unique gift idea post and pulled some ideas from there. Let’s break those down first:
1. COOKING CLASS
A lot of places have gone online due to COVID, but for sure a great out of the box idea if the person loves to cook! I personally always find cooking classes to be so much fun! Pre-COVID I always loved the ones offered at Sur La Table (they have BYOB) and The Chopping Block. This is something you can give now and do later once things get better OR do online!
2. WINESTYR WINE CLUB MEMBERSHIP
This one is perfect for all the wine lovers out there. Think your mom, grandmother, mother in law, or even a great girlfriend or sister. A Winestyr subscription includes four shipments of wine delivered right to your door. Also if you live in Chicago, you can get access to their beautiful tasting space in Chicago.
3. STAYCATION
A staycation is ALWAYS a good idea. If you live in Chicago, there are so many fabulous hotels to choose from. Some of my favorites include: The Peninsula Chicago (where we got married!), Waldorf Astoria Chicago, The Langham, The Viceroy, and LondonHouse Chicago.
4. FAMILY PHOTO SHOOT
You can never have too many pictures and a family photo shoot is always a good idea. You can hire a photographer and turned all the amazing photos into a Shutterfly book or gallery wall. This is an amazingly personalized gift that you can give now and then use once the weather gets warmer.
5. SPA DAY
What mom doesn’t love a spa day!? A gift certificate to their favorite spa would be perfect. Some of my favorites in Chicago include: Mario Tricocci, The Peninsula, and The Four Seasons. Even better if a daughter gives this to their mom and they can go together!
6. SHUTTERFLY BOOK OR CALENDAR
This might take a bit of prep time, but always a crowd pleaser. Especially for that person that has everything and wants nothing. Shutterfly is always my go-to when it comes to anything involving photos. They have so many different templates to choose from and can even do the designing for you. Who doesn’t love something with photos!?
Honestly anything from Shutterfly is always a fan favorite. They make it super easy to create calendars, photo books, as well as lots of other personalized essentials. This website is a great go-to when you have a family member that is tough to shop for. Parents and grandparents will LOVE anything you make them from this site.
7. FOXTROT GIFT BOXES
If you follow me on Instagram Stories, then you know I am a HUGE fan of FoxTrot. They have amazing curated gift boxes for the holidays that are themed and so much fun! They also have the most beautiful gift wrapping and they are able to ship statewide. Check out all their curated boxes here.
