This summer has looked a lot different from years past. No fun parties and lots of social distancing. A few things we were able to enjoy include good weather, family time, eating outside, and lots of outdoor activities.
Looking back, I see that the last Life Lately post was in February, which was before everything hit the fan. So crazy how drastically life can change in just 6 months, but then that does give hope! I’m hoping that in 6 months things will be way better and this pandemic will be behind us.

I’ve been sharing a lot on Instagram Stories, but if not, take a look at what we’ve been up to below:
We spent a wonderful day with Choose Chicago. We started with an architectural tour on the river with Shoreline Sightseeing. Then we went down to the Riverwalk and had lunch at Beat Kitchen. It was such a fun day and the perfect social distancing activities. Shop Elle’s dress here and her shoes ON SALE here.
Lots of park time this summer because it’s honestly the only thing to do. Elle is OBSESSED with this bubble gun. It has been a real life saver and the best one we have ever bought. Shop all my Amazon favorites here.
I don’t know about you, but we have been doing a lot of food deliveries from all of our favorite Chicago restaurants. This dinner was from Monteverde. Give me all the pasta please!
We have been able to have occasional date nights thanks to grandma 😉 . This night we went to Parlor Pizza in River North. They did a great job of social distancing their tables. You can shop my dress here and my headband here (you can get a set of 3 for only $12).
Lots of walks outside! Even though Chicago has been beyond crazy these past few months,we have had beautiful weather and I still kinda love it.
Social distancing park date with my family. Shop my sweatshirt here.
Elle finally got her big girl bed! It was delayed due to the pandemic so we weren’t able to get it until June. It is from Room & Board and you can read the full post here.
When it comes to ice cream, my brand of choice is always Hudsonville. They’re honestly the best and the perfect summer treat. Last month I teamed up with them to share 3 ice cream sandwich recipes. See the full post here.
Dinner at one of my favorites: Gibsons Italia. Honestly the best food with the prettiest Chicago views. It’s a must this season!
Elle did some cooking in the kitchen with The Kids’ Table. They have a lot of fun cooking classes geared towards all ages. You can check out their schedule here. Shop Elle’s adorable chef outfit here.
Beachy views. The lakefront is open which is nice!
Another date night. This time at Hugo’s. They closed off the streets by it so they are able to spread out even more. Such great food too!
Hosting a small brunch? This summer I shared a few tips as well as recipes on how to easily pull it off. Read the full post here.
A few photos from our architectural river boat ride with Shoreline Sightseeing.
There might be a lot of craziness happening around the city, but at least the sunsets are pretty!
