5 BEAUTY SECRETS I’VE PICKED UP ALONG THE WAY

One great thing about blogging is that I’ve been able to meet a lot of amazing people that I can now call my friends. One of those friends is Monica of Caravan of Style. We met at an event about 3 years ago and instantly connected. We had a lot of common interests and both shared a love for photography. We started getting together on weekends to take each other’s blog photos. We also both liked trying out fun restaurant spots for brunch and dinners. She even helped throw this amazing baby shower for me this past fall.

Besides sharing common interests, we also love sharing tips, tricks, and beauty secrets we’ve picked up along the way. Taking care of yourself is important and today I’m teaming up with Dove to share 5 beauty secrets that I’ve picked up along the way and wanted to share with all of you…

1. ALWAYS WASH YOUR FACE BEFORE YOU GO TO BED
No matter how tired you are or how late it is, make sure you wash your face before you go to bed. It’s important to remove all that makeup and environmental toxins off your skin so that you can wake up looking fresh and acne free.

2. MOISTURIZE
It’s important for your body and skin to stay hydrated {especially during the winter months} so I like to moisturize my face and body both in the morning and at night. This also helps with preventing dry, cracked, and itchy skin. I also make sure to drink lots of water {which will be expanded in #4} and I keep a humidifier running in the bedroom during the winter months.

3. WEAR DEODORANT
It is the easiest way to feel clean, fresh, and ready to take on the day. My current deodorant of choice is Dove Advanced Care Antiperspirant. It offers 48 hours of odor and wetness protection plus added skincare benefits with Dove 1/4 moisturizers and NutriumMoisture for softer, smoother underarms. My favorites include their sensitive and cool essentials.

What I love most about this specific deodorant is the fact that it goes beyond other antiperspirants I’ve used in the past. It really gives your underarms that 5-star treatment by providing 48 hour protection. Since I’m always on the go, I don’t need to worry about reapplying. I’m also a huge fan of how smooth it goes on.

Monica’s favorite part was the fact that it doesn’t irritate the skin. It also smells wonderful {so many different flavors to choose from!} and easily works continuously throughout the day. What more can you ask for?

4. DRINK LOTS OF WATER
To me, water is everything. It is my favorite beverage of choice {besides coffee} and I try to carry a bottle of water with me wherever I go. It can do wonders for your skin and circulation. Find it kind of boring? No worries! You can spice things up with sparkling water or by adding sliced lemons, berries, or cucumbers to amp up the flavor.

5. SMILE
If you look happy, you will feel happy! Surround yourself with positive people and friends who have great energy and won’t bring you down. When you are happy on the inside, it will show on the outside. Your face will be more relaxed, your skin will glow, and you will look younger.

So these are my 5 beauty secrets that I shared with my bestie Monica as well as all of you. What are some of your beauty secrets? I would love to hear!

I haven’t tried Dove deodorants yet, but I will definitely have to check them out. These are some great tips. I can tell a difference in my skin when I drink more water, and smiling is always a great tip.

Great tips, Samantha! I think smiling is one that is easily forgotten- but no one looks more beautiful than when they smile! I used to be bad about washing my face before bed, but this year I’ve switched up my routine to shower at night, and it feels good to go to sleep and wake up with fresh, clean skin.

Love those tips! I try to also stick to natural skincare products. The skin is the largest organ and absorbs so much, so no point putting crappy products on it 🙂

This is a great example of a horrible sponsored post. Washing your face, drinking water and especially wearing deodorant aren’t exactly beauty secrets.
