I’ve officially entered my third trimester and couldn’t be more ecstatic about having a baby girl in early December. Becoming a new mom is filled with lots of unknowns and exciting new challenges. I’ve read a few books, talked to my older sister and some friends, but still am not exactly sure what to totally expect.
When it came time to registering, I knew that I needed some help. Since I live in a 2 bedroom condo, I wanted to take a minimalist approach to baby products. I thought it was important to choose items based on quality verses quantity and choose products that I would actually use as my baby grows.
With the help of buybuy BABY, I was able to find everything I needed. Not only do they have an amazing registry checklist, but also helpful employees and expert registry consultants that are moms themselves and know about all the products inside and out. Once you sign up, they give you a great goody bag filled with useful information, samples galore, and a boat load of coupons.
There are honestly so many reasons why buybuy BABY was my first choice when it came to registering. They have fully personalized baby registries, a baby book and registry checklist as reference tools, as well as their online buying guides that help new moms make more informed purchase decisions. They also have a registry favorites page with a list of their most popular products. Lastly, as a thank you for registering, buybuy BABY offers a completion program where you can save on all the items not bought off your registry.
I was lucky enough to meet with Ann who guided me on all the new mom must-haves. It can be a bit overwhelming at first because there are so many products to choose from, but we were able to go through each section together and discuss the advantages of all the different options. My husband was there too and we discovered that babies need a LOT of stuff which is kind of funny because they are so tiny.
With the help of my registry expert consultant, sister, and mom friends I think I narrowed it down to the top 10 first time mom must-haves…so here we go….
BOON LAWN DRYING RACK + ACCESSORIES
Everyone I have talked to said that this is a total must. It has a modern design that makes it both functional and pretty to the eye. It’s BPA and PVC free, dishwasher safe, and is perfect for drying items of all shapes and sizes. It also now comes in winter white too and has a bunch of fun add-on accessories.
ERGOBABY FOUR POSITION 360 COOL AIR BABY CARRIER
All the baby carrier options really got me stressed out. There were so many different styles to choose from and I honestly didn’t know where to begin. After a long discussion with our registry consultant, we decided that the Ergobaby 360 Cool Air was the best choice for us. We really liked the fact that it was made of a cool air mesh that made it breathable because we thought we would be using this mostly during the warmer months. We also like how there are 4 different options for carrying your baby, making it extremely versatile.
DR. BROWN’S BOTTLE SET
When it comes to baby bottles everyone says that Dr. Brown’s are the best. They are the market’s first convertible bottle that can be used with or without the vent system {which helps with colic}. These bottles are known to help reduce feeding problems, digestion, and preserve vitamins. They even have a set that comes in pink {yay for girls!}. I was told it was best to buy this set and then buy a few different nipple sizes because those change as the baby gets older.
HALO SLEEPSACK SWADDLE
Every baby likes to be swaddled, and I’ve been told that velcro is the way to go with this one. They are better than the average blanket because the velcro helps them stay put. Babies love these HALO SleepSacks especially and so do moms because they replace loose blankets in the crib that can cover your baby’s face and interfere with breathing. They come in a variety of fun patterns + colors, as well as cotton or micro-fleece {which will be great for winter}.
BABYGANICS PRODUCTS
When it comes to what to use ON your baby, Babyganics seems like a great choice. All of their products use gentle plant-based ingredients that are safe and soothing to sensitive skin. They are pediatrician and dermatologist tested and come in a wide variety of selections. I was also told that The Honest Company was another great choice as well as Mustela and Noodle & Boo for babies with extra sensitive skin.
ROCK N’ PLAY SLEEPER BY FISHER PRICE X JONATHAN ADLER
I was told that every baby needs some sort of bouncer, swing, and/or a rock n’ play. These useful devices help entertain the baby with their rocking, music options, vibrations, and sounds. I got super excited when I found out that buybuy BABY was exclusively selling a Jonathan Adler and Fisher Price collaboration. What I really like about this specific device is that is can connect to your smart phone, making it hands free. I also love the fact that it folds up for easy storage since babies only use these for about 6 months.
DEKOR KOLOR PLUS DIAPER DISPOSAL
Babies go through a LOT of diapers so I was told that a diaper disposal pail is a must. The Dekor Kolor is a great go-to brand because of its sleek design and stylish color options that can compliment any nursery. It is super easy to use with a hands-free foot pedal and can hold up to 60 diapers! Obviously I am all about the pink one 😉 .
NOSEFRIDA SNOTSUCKER NASAL ASPIRATOR
I feel like everyone has been talking about this NoseFrida lately. It is a super effective way to keep your baby’s nostrils clear naturally. It features a 15 inch long type that is placed against the nostril {not inside} making it much safer for your baby. It is easy to clean, dishwasher safe, and features disposable filters to prevent any bacterial transfer.
ADEN + ANAIS BURPY BIBS
I’ve been told that aden + anais is a baby brand favorite due to their 100% cotton muslin fabric and adorable designs. These burpy bibs are perfect because they can perform double duty as both a burp cloth and a bib. They also recently teamed up with Rosie Pope to create some super cute styles.
MARPAC DOHM SOUND MACHINE
Lastly, every baby needs a sound machine. It helps calm the baby to sleep and creates a safe space for them. We have heard wonderful things about this one and also got this on-the-go version for travel.

Straight A Style
Happy 3rd trimester and awesome round up! We have almost everything on this list, and my favorites I think will be the drying rack, noise machines, velcro swaddlers, baby carrier, and of course the babyganics line. I read something the other day that said why would you put something so unnatural on something so brand new and natural? So true <3
