Ever since quarantine started we’ve been playing a lot at home and have been upping our toy game. A while ago I wrote a post on our favorite toys for 1 year olds, so today I thought I would share what my 3 year old daughter has been loving.
Why do little girls LOVE little things? Lately she has been all about Polly Pockets, LOL Surprise Dolls, and all the little pieces. She’s also a huge fan of games and we recently got some great ones from Goliath Games including Pop The Pig, Lucky Duck, and Let’s Go Fishing.
Hopefully birthday parties will make a comeback so you can use this list to get some ideas. Let’s break it down:

1. MINNIE CLIP ON DRESS UP
My daughter is OBSESSED with this toy. She recently saw it at a friend’s house and instantly fell in love. I mean, who doesn’t love all things Minnie Mouse. You can snap on the different outfits and accessories for endless entertainment. I also love the fact that it’s an activity she is able to do all on her own. Major plus!
2. SMOOTHIE MAKING SET
We love making and drinking smoothies so this is the perfect addition to my daughter’s play kitchen. Melissa and Doug never disappoint with their toys and we especially love all their wooden food sets. This comes with everything you need to make the perfect smoothie and even includes a menu.
3. FELT SANDWICH SET
Another Melissa and Doug favorite. This felt sandwich set is super cute and perfect for playing picnic. You can also easily add teachable moments. It comes with multiple pretend play ideas for hours of educational and entertaining excitement.
4. FOAM ALIVE ICE CREAM SET
This is a great sensory play toy from Play Visions. It includes scoops, cones, and ice cream molds to form your own ice cream cone. Foam Alive is soft, squishy, fluffy foam that magically comes to life. It looks like it’s melting and is “no mess” fun that you can play with again and again.
5. MINNIE MOUSE PURSE
Elle got this as a present at her 3rd birthday party. It’s such a great gift idea for anyone who loves Minnie Mouse. She brings it everywhere and it’s her favorite purse. It comes with cute accessories including sunglasses, a cell phone, luggage tag, passport, boarding pass, tickets, a wallet, and bracelet with a removable charm. Super cute!
6. DISNEY PRINCESS DRESS UP TRUNK
This was another great gift my daughter got at her birthday party. It’s the perfect present for any kid that loves to dress up. It includes outfits and accessories for 4 Disney Princess characters including Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, and Snow White. We’ve been using these costumes a lot during quarantine. It’s a great way to pass the time.
7. FROZEN CASTLE
We love anything by the brand Little People. We also have their dollhouse (updated version here) as well as a lot of their figures like this princess set. The Frozen Castle we’ve had for awhile now and it’s something my daughter plays with EVERY DAY. She loves it so much that we even needed to get the matching sleigh. The castle lights up and even sings “Let It Go” obviously. Anyone who loves Frozen needs this toy.
8. LUCKY DUCK GAME
When it comes to games, we love anything made by Goliath. Everything is always age appreciate, educational, and obviously fun. Lucky Duck is the perfect game for 3 year olds. It reinforces key developmental skills like color matching and memory.
9. POP THE PIG GAME
Another Goliath game we love is Pop The Pig. This one is super silly and lots of fun for 3 year olds. Players take turns rolling the die, feeding the pig, and pushing down on his head. Each pump makes his belly grow bigger until he POPS. It teaches numbers, colors, and counting too which is an added bonus.
10. ELECTRONIC CASH REGISTER
Elle’s grandmother got her this toy and it’s super cute. It teaches kids about money, numbers, calculations, and more. It also comes with a pretend food basket, money, and credit cards. My daughter especially loves the working mic and sound speaker. So much fun!
11. WOODEN FRUIT CUTTING SET
This was another toy my daughter got for her birthday. All the pieces of wooden fruit are magnetic and kids can practice slicing them with the wooden knife. It also comes with a “menu” and tray. It invites early imaginative play, builds on vocabulary, and reinforces healthy eating habits. We love it!
12. PET VET
My daughter loves doctor kits and I think we have about 3. This one is fun because it comes with a stuffed dog, a stuffed cat, as well as a bunch of accessories. We also have this matching grooming set too that we love as well.
13. LOL SURPRISE DOLL
I’m not sure if LOL Dolls are meant for 3 year olds, but my daughter is OBSESSED. They all come as a surprise and they have different series. We recently got a few of the Makeover Series that come with 15 surprises in a hairspray can capsule. The capsule transforms into a salon chair and doll stand. It also comes with different outfits. I find them kind of weird, but my daughter loves collecting them.
14. FROZEN WOODEN PUZZLES
My daughter LOVES puzzles and this is a great one! It’s wooden and well made. It also comes with 5 different puzzles in one, which is an added bonus. This is another toy that I think my daughter loves playing with daily.
15. PAW PATROL MAGNETIC DRESS UP PUZZLE
My daughter loves both Paw Patrol as well as dress up so this is the perfect toy. It comes with Chase and Sky, as well as a bunch of different outfits and accessions. We have a similar Minnie Mouse version too. These make great gifts!
16. BEAUTY SALON
What girl doesn’t love the beauty salon? This wooden Melissa and Doug salon is the perfect addition to any bedroom and perfect for imaginative play. It’s super durable and comes with a hair dryer, hair spray, hair straightener, comb, brush, lotion bottle, makeup, nail polish, and more. So cute! We love it!
17. POLLY POCKET
Who remembers these when they were little? Well they are clearly still popular. Who knew?! We have a few of them and they are the perfect toy to bring on the go to restaurants or car rides. I love how they are tiny, but still lots of fun.
18. LET’S GO FISHING GAME
I feel like I had this game when I was little and it is clearly still popular. Players use their mini fishing poles to try to catch as many fish as they can. It helps with hand-eye coordination and is a family favorite.
19. PENGUIN NESTING DOLLS
This is another fun toy you can bring on the go. It’s small enough to bring in your bag and provides endless entertainment. It’s a great educational gift from Play Vision. There are a bunch of different penguins that all fit inside each other.
20. CRAYOLA DOUGH PLAYSET
Lastly, if your kid loves Playdoh then they will love this play set. It is made of non toxic material and helps kids get creative. We love doing arts and crafts in our house and this is the perfect addition.
