Winter months can be tough when it comes to feeling your best. With shorter days and colder weather, it’s important to maintain healthy habits and take care of yourself. There are some things you can make sure to do as well as a few amazing products that can help get you through the winter season successfully.
1. WASH YOUR HANDS
Not only should you make sure to wash your hands, but try to do it as often as possible. The most effective way to remove and prevent the spread of germs is to wash your hands frequently. Always remember to use soap and warm water.
2. EAT FOR IMMUNITY
An easy way to help you feel well this winter season is to eat healthy foods that support your immune system. Some of these include: mushrooms, garlic, citrus fruits, herbs + spices, probiotics, prebiotics, and chicken soup.
These days I’m a huge fan of Align Dualbiotic Gummies available at WalmartHealthSupport.com! . These help support a healthy gut with great tasting, easy to chew gummies. They contain a prebiotic fiber, inulin, to help nourish good bacteria in your digestive system. They are naturally flavored and contain less than 1g of sugar per gummy. They also taste great too!
I’m also loving Source Naturals® Wellness Formula®. They were the first to deliver high-potency vitamin C plus 25 more key nutrients and time-tested herbs in 1 product. The vitamins and herbs found within Source Naturals Wellness Formula supports immune health, promotes normal mucus production in your respiratory system, keeps white blood cells healthy from free radicals, promote a healthy response to stress, and support a health respiratory system.
3. KEEP MOVING
The winter months can especially be a challenging time to stick to your exercise routine. Unfortunately the colder temperatures can also be a deterrent from getting outside for some exercise. To help stay active during the winter, try to make a goal of hitting the gym at least 2-4 times a week. Don’t want to leave your house? Try a workout DVD or workout app (there are currently so many out there!). Also, I always love speed walking around indoor malls during the wintertime to try to get some easy cardio in.
4. GET SOME SUN
I realize that the availability of sunlight is limited during the winter months, but it’s still important to spend some time outdoors even when it’s cold. Sunlight has been show to help improve your mood by boosting the release of a hormone called serotonin. If you live in a climate that has long, grey winters, you can even get a lamp the shares the same effect as real sunlight.
5. BE PREPARED
Since sore throats are constant during winter months, it’s best to be prepared and have all the right products with you on hand. Vicks VapoCOOL Severe Drops are my current favorite. They use a targeted intense cooling and powerful numbing treatment to vaporize your sore throat pain right where you need it. Benzocaine, a powerful numbing agent tackles sore throat pain fast and VapoCOOL SEVERE provides a powerful rush of Vicks Vapors with 33% more medicine. These are especially great to stock up on during winter months.
6. EAT MORE FIBER
Fiber has so many health benefits so why not eat more during the winter months. Lately I have been loving Metamucil Fiber Thins. They are delicious crunchy fiber snacks that provide 5 grams of fiber with just 100 calories per serving. They help satisfy hunger and contain 20% of your daily recommended value of fiber to help promote digestive health.
Metamucil Fiber Thins are #1 doctor-recommended when it comes to fiber brands. They help trap and remove the waste that weighs you down so you feel lighter and less sluggish. They come in a few different flavors including chocolate (my personal favorite), cinnamon spice, and apple crisp.
So there you have it. 6 tips for feeling great this winter. You can find all of the products I listed above at Walmart and WalmartHealthSupport.com.
