One of my favorite fall trends of the season is plaid. It’s always a fan favorite and effortlessly chic. Ann Taylor really stepped it up with some adorable styles this season including this coat and this headband. Both are classic and cute for both work and play. It’s still on the warmer side here in Chicago (which I am not complaining about at all), but once it gets a bit cooler, I’ll be wearing the outfit below. Let’s break it down:

MODERN PLAID COAT

As I said before, plaid is trending for fall and I’m OBSESSED with this coat. It’s the perfect jacket for transitional weather and I obviously love the pattern. What’s great about Ann Taylor is that a lot of their styles come in petite size too so you don’t have to worry about getting it tailored. This coat is especially great for all you working girls out there!

PLAID KNOTTED HEADBAND

As you already know, I’m a huge fan when it comes to headbands. It’s the perfect accessory to amp up any outfit and this one matches my coat perfectly. In my mind you can never have too many headbands and this is an essential one to add to your collection.

TURTLENECK SWEATER DRESS

Sweater dresses are always a must for fall. They’re the perfect work staple and can easily be dressed up to flow from day to night. I especially love this look with some over the knee boots. Some other similar styles I’m loving include this one and this one.

OVER THE KNEE BOOTS

Everyone needs a pair of black OTK boots in their closet. These are perfect and look identical to the Stuart Weitzman ones, but at a fraction of the price. They’re a fall staple and are super easy to style. Lastly, if you’re not a fan of heels, then this is an easy way to dress up your look.

CROSSBODY BAG

I’m a huge fan of cross body bags because I love having my hands free. I’m a huge Gucci girl, but I realize it’s a bit on the pricey side. You can find this exact style here, and more affordable options that are pretty similar here, here and here.
