A few weeks ago my friend and I visited the showroom of Universal Standard.  It’s a new kind of retail concept and a continuation of their mission to change the face of retail. Their space is beautiful and you can come to hang out, host events, and attend inspiring programs hosted by the team. They also have 1 X 1 styling sessions that you can book by appointment, which is what I ended up doing.

I spoke with my stylist beforehand via email and he was able to pull a curated assortment of products including denim, elevated basics, and new seasonal styles. Their space is extremely inviting and I especially love their mission. They carry a wide range of sizes that is inclusive to everyone and use premium quality fabrics.

I also love Universal Standard’s Fit Liberty promise. They realize that your size can change, but fit shouldn’t have to. They promise that if your size shifts (up or down), they will replace your clothes for free. You are eligible for a 1-year size swap so you can buy today and never worry about tomorrow. Read more about their story and mission here.

I tried on an array of pieces and decided on this dress. I felt like you could easily dress it up or down depending on where you wear it and you can never go wrong with classic black.

I paired my dress with a distressed denim jacket (perfect for the change in seasons) and some gold sandals (similar style here). Lastly a hot pink bag that is a few years old, but I was able to find some similar styles here and here. See more photos below:
