6 TIPS FOR CONQUERING YOUR TO-DO LIST

Thank you to the makers of 5-hour™ TEA shots for sponsoring this post.

Life can get hectic and those to-do lists can get long. It can be a bit overwhelming and daunting, making you want to just give up and lie on the couch doing nothing.  It’s easy to get stressed by difficult tasks that all need to get done, but by creating a to-do list and planning ahead can really help with the first step of the entire process. Today I’m teaming up with 5-hour™ TEA shots to share a few tips and tricks I like to use when conquering my own to-do list during the week.

1. BREAK UP YOUR TASKS INTO SMALLER STEPS

As a former Special Education teacher, this one always helped my students out a lot and it can help you too. Things can get overwhelming, and this is especially true when you have a whole laundry list of things to get done. If  you break it down and even categorize it, then everything can become more manageable and way less stressful.

When creating my own to-do list, I love making bullet points within each task. That way everything gets broken down into smaller, achievable steps and I can check things off faster. I also am pretty old school and love actually writing everything out. I usually create a list each week and add/check off tasks as they’re completed.

2. PRIORITIZE

When looking over my to-do lists, I love starting with all the easier activities that are less time consuming. It’s so satisfying completing a task you’ve been putting off and scratching one off the list. At the beginning of each day, I always look for what will take the least amount of time, and try to tackle those first. Then I move to the more time consuming options later on and even break them down (as I mentioned above).

3. CREATE DEADLINES

Having an endpoint in time helps with time management and gives yourself a bit of cushion room when figuring out your day. Not everything can be completed in one day and giving yourself deadlines to each task really helps you focus on what needs to get done ahead of time in order to accomplish everything.

4. BOOST YOUR ENERGY

In order to get stuff done, you need energy. My goto these days is 5-hour™ TEA. It really helps me feel alert and energized so I can focus on getting things checked off my to-do list. The caffeine in 5-hour™ TEA shots comes from real green tea leaves and each bottle contains zero sugar and four calories. It’s packed with vitamins, nutrients, and about as much caffeine as a cup of the leading premium coffee. It’s really a great way to start your day.

5. TURN OFF YOUR ELECTRONIC DEVICES

Phones, computers, and televisions can be very distracting and time consuming. If you need to get stuff done, turning all these things off until your finished will really help you in completing your tasks. I love nothing more than to waste time on Instagram Stories. Whenever I know I have some blog work to get done, I always make sure to finish everything before grabbing my phone. Also, by putting it away in another room really helps because then I’m not tempted to grab it.

6. REWARD YOURSELF

At the end of each task or group of tasks, give yourself a little break and reward yourself. Whether it’s getting a coffee or going for a walk, it really helps to reset your mind and pushes you to continue tackling the next task off your list.

So there you have it. 6 tips for helping you check everything off your to-do list.
