Having a bedtime routine for your little one is extremely important. Kids love when they know what’s coming next and today on the blog I thought I would walk you all through Elle’s bedtime routine and share some of our favorite JOHNSON’S® products that we like to use.
DINNER TIME
Elle usually has dinner around 5-5:30PM. I try to cook dinner most week nights and give her a deconstructed version of what we’re having. Luckily, she isn’t too picky of an eater and enjoys trying new foods. If you struggle with finding ideas on what to cook for your kids, you can check out this post where I share a bunch of toddler mealtime ideas front only dinner, but also breakfast and lunch too.
BATH TIME
After dinner, Elle usually plays for 1/2-1 hour and then we try to give her a bath around 6PM. For awhile she was not into baths, but after getting her a few new bath toys {more on that later this month} she has really begun to enjoy bath time.
Some of our favorite products at the moment include: JOHNSON’S® Head to Toe Wash and JOHNSON’S® Gold Shampoo. We especially love that there are no parabens, no phthalates, and that they are all hypoallergenic. These products are even gentler with 50% fewer ingredients that are free of dyes and sulfates. I love that they are more naturally derived and am all about the added easy-to-use pumps.
I trust JOHNSON’S® and the results reflect in their fundamental mission which is creating a world where every baby can thrive. We get all of our JOHNSON’S® products at Target because they always have the best selection.
PAJAMA TIME
After bath time, we get Elle out of the tub and put her pajamas on. We love using JOHNSON’S® Pink Lotion to help keep her skin soft and moisturized. We’ve actually been using it since she was a baby and can feel at ease knowing that all of JOHNSON’S® products are safe and hypoallergenic.
MILK & STORY TIME
After Elle’s pajamas are on and her hair is dried and brushed, we give her a sippy cup of milk. Since Elle turned one, we have been giving her whole milk about 3 times a day. We give it to her at breakfast, after her nap, and the again right before bed. While Elle drinks her milk, we like to hang out on the chair in her room and read a few books. I always let Elle choose the books she wants to read and you can see a bunch of her current favorites in this post.
TEETH BRUSHING
We started the whole teeth brushing process once Elle turned one. We like to practice once in the morning and then again right before bed after she finishes her milk. It’s a total work in progress and I feel like Elle prefers to suck on the toothbrush verses brushing so she needs some help from mom and dad.
BEDTIME
Elle usually goes to bed around 7-7:30PM. She is really good about putting herself to sleep and this is probably because we did sleep training around 5 months. You can read all about our process in this post to get an idea of what we did. We turn on her sound machine, kiss her goodnight, turn out the lights, and shut the door. We then don’t see her again until she wakes up in the morning which is usually around 7:30-8AM.

So there you have it. Elle’s bedtime routine and a few of the products we like to use.
