Happy Monday friends! Today’s post is a fun one because I’m super excited to reveal our brand NEW sofa from Room & Board. We had our last sofa for over 15 years and were in desperate need of a new one. Our living room is kind of a unique layout and opens up into Elle’s play area as well as our dining room. We needed a sofa that worked well with our space, and that was also durable, comfortable, and blended in seamlessly with our current decor.

We have been huge fans of Room & Board for quite some time and love that their pieces are made from high quality materials that will hold up for years. Another thing we love is that most pieces are customizable and come in a variety of different patterns, colors, materials, and sizes. Their employees are always super friendly and willing to help on those tough decisions.

If you follow me on Instagram then you know I was having a hard time deciding on the shade of grey we wanted for our new sofa. I ultimately chose Dawson cement with the help of all of YOU as well as my Room & Board design associate.

We currently have a few other Room & Board pieces in our home including some furniture in our bedroom seen in this post as well as these dining room chairs that you can see styled in this post. We also have this dresser of theirs in Elle’s bedroom seen in this post. Lastly, we had the chance to partnered with them last winter when revamping Elle’s play area that you can see in this post.

Today I’m going to share everything we picked out and why we chose what we did:

STEVENS SOFA WITH CHAISE

Let’s start with the most important piece in our living room: the sofa! This exact sofa comes in multiple sizes as well as a bunch of different fabrics. The chaise is reversible, making it an extremely versatile option. What made this sofa stand out to me was the contemporary chrome base and modern design. I also loved the fact that it came in 91 inches, which seemed like the perfect fit for our space.

When deciding on a fabric, I knew I needed something that was durable and that would hold up with a toddler. I went with the Dawson fabric in cement. I love the texture of the material and the fact that it’s made of a stain-resistant fabric. Dawson offers an exceptional performance micro-fiber without the suede-like texture. The small zig-zag pattern gives visual interest and has a clean, modern look.

HERRINGBONE MODERN THROW PILLOW

We had a few pillows from our previous sofa, but decided to freshen up the space with some new ones. When I was visiting the Room & Board store in downtown Chicago, I kept seeing this bold herringbone patterned pillow displayed on various chairs and sofas. I love the pattern and soft velvety material. It also comes in a few different shades as well as another size option.

TIBETAN MODERN SHEEPSKIN PILLOW

This luxuriously soft and undeniably inviting sheepskin pillow adds instant texture to to any room. It’s super soft and comes in a few different colors. We added it to liven up our living space and it has helped add that extra dramatic touch.

MARBLED WHITE QUARTZ COFFEE TABLE IN STAINLESS STEEL

Our coffee table is actually old, but coincidentally also from Room & Board. It is customizable with both the top material and size. When picking it out, we went with the marbled white quartz option because we were told that the surface was easier to maintain and keep clean. It has really held up throughout the years and pairs perfectly with our new sofa. I also love the fact that it’s round, making it extremely toddler friendly!

SEQUENCE RUG

This rug might look a bit familiar and that’s because it was originally used in Elle’s play area {seen in this post}. I thought that the colors worked so well with our new sofa and pillows, that I decided to move it into our new space. It’s made from a pretty durable material so I knew it would be perfect for under the couch. The colors match nicely and it really pops against our dark wood floors.

I love the modern design and the fact that this rug doesn’t shed. It comes in three different color choices as well as varying sizes. We got ours in a 5 X 8 inch size in the ivory/grey color option. We also got this rug pad so it will stay in place.

So there you have it! Our new and improved living room thanks to the help of Room & Board. We have really been enjoying our new space as a family and are so pleased with how everything turned out.
