Seriously guys…where did the summer go? I can’t believe it’s almost September and fall is on the horizon. Can you? This past month was a fun one with lots of time spent outside. Elle hung out at the beach for the first time and I also realized that I love using the word YAS when it comes to food hahah.
Today my husband and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary! I actually wrote a whole post about how we first met here and it includes some funny old school photos of us too. Time is really flying by.
Below I’m sharing all about what we’ve been up to all of August and feel free to follow along on Instagram and Instagram Stories for more up to date fun ;-).
Obviously starting with this cutie patootie. Elle was a late walker so this past month we shared a post on the tips and tools we used to get her moving. You can read about it here.
We tried the restaurant The Gringo and their tacos were the bomb.com. They have the cutest outdoor area and Elle loved the guacamole. We will for sure be back!
I’m obsessed with my new leopard sandals and recently featured them in this post. They’re the perfect transitional shoe into fall and you can shop them on sale here.
I”ve been spending a lot of time at LUXBAR this summer. Their truffle fries are the best and they have a great happy hour menu. I love dining al fresco and people watching.
Peggy and I hanging at the pool. Shop my cute one piece swimsuit here.
I finally tried Spacca Napoli. It’s really cute and the pizza’s pretty good too.
My husband and I hanging out at the new 465 North Park building. Great views and the most amazing pool deck.
Sushi date night at one of my faves. If you haven’t been to Coast then you’re missing out. It’s the perfect BYOB sushi spot.
As I said above, Elle got the hang out at the beach for the first time…Not sure why it took us so long to get her there. Anyways…she absolutely LOVED it.
I always get so many questions about what I feed Elle for meals and even wrote a whole post about it here. These are a few of her favorites from Trader Joe’s and things we buy on the regular.
Hanging at Navy Pier with my bestie.
I attending a super fun event at The Capital Grille. They’re currently running a special called The Generous Pour which entails 7 luxurious wines to taste for $28 per person with dinner. The food there is already amazing and this is just an added bonus!
Another fun event I attended was with Juice Beauty at Eden this month. I’ve been a huge fan of clean beauty brands for quite some time and plan on writing a whole blog post about it soon.
Brunch at Bistro Zinc. I’m so sad they are closing.
Elle watching the Air & Water show from my friend’s rooftop. Aren’t her sandals the cutest? You can shop them here.
Wearing a cute new leopard dress I got from Ann Taylor. This photo was taken seconds before it started pouring down rain on us.
Riverwalk views. If you haven’t been then it’s a must! So many fun restaurants and bars.
I’m totally obsessed with this maxi dress and it’s currently on sale! Shop it here and see the full post here.
More pizza and more YAS. My favorite deep dish pizza at the moment is hands down Giordano’s.
Lately I’ve been all about putting bows on Elle. She is slowly warming up to the idea hahaha. Our current favorites are these.
Love me some Sprinkles Cupcakes 😉 .
Yes. More pizza! I had the chance to check out the new Casati’s Pizza Vino located in Lincoln Park. All the food was amazing!
The prettiest pink dress. See the full post here.
We got a new sofa from Room & Board and I’m super pumped! I’m still working on styling the space, but plan on getting a whole post about it soon.
All about those views ;-).
Hanging at a birthday party. Elle loves birthday cake and of course we had to wear a bow!
Elle is obsessed with these cute new snack containers. You can shop them here.
Park day fun. This photo was taken on my iPhone. I’m always so amazed with portrait mode.
Last weekend I attended a fun brunch at Margeaux Brasserie located in the Waldorf Astoria. They have a live jazz band and amazing food. See the full brunch menu here.
Earlier this week we took a sunset helicopter ride with Chicago Helicopter Experience. We’ve actually done it before and you can read a bit about it in this post.
This pic was taken right before we went up.
Honestly the coolest views!
