COOKING WITH ELLE

Elle is currently 16 months and turning into quite the little lady. She has so much silliness and sassiness {that she must get from me!} and it’s been so much fun watching her grow. As Elle gets older, we’re slowly updating her play areas and adding new age appropriate toys. I recently purchased some super cute pieces from buybuy BABY and wanted to share what we picked out and why.

PLAY KITCHEN

If you have a toddler, then you know they like to mimic everything you do. Elle loves to watch me cook and tries to help out, so I thought it would be fun to get her her very own play kitchen. Since her favorite color is pink, we went with this one because of the size, style, and reviews. I’m never a fan of assembling furniture, but I’ll be honest…this wasn’t THAT bad. It’s pretty compact, has everything you need when it comes to a play kitchen, and Elle loves it! Also if you’re not into pink don’t worry, the kitchen comes in a bunch of different colors too.

WOODEN PLAY FOOD

Elle obviously needed some fake food to go with her play kitchen so I picked out this set and this set from the brand Melissa and Doug. We are already huge fans of their brand and I liked the fact that these were made of wood versus plastic. It said it’s for ages 3 and up (Elle is currently 16 months), but she is over putting toys in her mouth for the most part so these worked out well.

WOODEN WALKER / GROCERY CART

I found a few grocery cart options on the site, and ultimately decided to go with this one. It’s made of wood and comes with the cutest colorful letter blocks. Even though it’s labeled as a walker, I thought Elle would have fun stacking up all her groceries and pushing them around the house.

CHEF ACCESSORY SET

Lastly we got Elle her very own pink gingham chef accessory set complete with an apron, chef hat, oven mitt, pot holder, and some spoons. It’s a bit big on her now, but she will slowly grow into it. Honestly, it’s just beyond cute on her and pairs perfectly with her pink kitchen and play food.

It was a pretty easy process of turnning a random area in our living room into a whole new play area for Elle. The play kitchen we picked out really didn’t take up too much space and has provided Elle with hours of fun. See some photos of the new space below:

Lastly, we put down this small sheepskin rug that was gifted to us from Apollo Box in front of Elle’s kitchen since we have hardwood floors. It actually comes in 6 different colors and I thought it added a nice little touch. Use code GOLDCOAST for 15% OFF site wide and shop my exact rug here.

Elle is totally in her element with all these new toys and you never know… she might decide to become a chef when she grows up 😉 !
