EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO PREPARE YOUR BABY FOR WINTER

It’s officially winter here in Chicago and has been quite cold the past few days. It’s important to keep your little one cozy and warm so today I wanted to share with you all the products we like to use during these frigid winter months. From stroller accessories to snowsuits and hats, there are a few key essentials that I highly recommend stocking up on.

SHOP THE POST

STROLLER & CAR SEAT COVERS

We currently are using this Uppa Baby Vista stroller so the foot muff designed for it fits perfectly. It is super cozy and I love the fact that is has a head cover too. Last year when Elle was much smaller we used this universal fleece cover in both her basinet and car seat. I’m also a fan of the brand 7 A. M. and love this car seat cocoon.

STROLLER GLOVES

We do a lot of walking around no matter what the weather is so these gloves are super helpful and handy. They are kind of the best invention ever and are designed to give you a comfortable grip on your stroller handles while keeping you toasty and warm. They are also water-repellent and perfect for both rain + snow.

COZY SOCKS

Our whole family are fans of cozy socks and we especially love these ones made by Ellen DeGeneres’s ED line. They are stylish, warm, and most importantly stay on Elle’s feet. So many socks fall off, but the elastic on these actually work.

FLEECE SLEEP SACKS

If you’ve read my previous post on sleep training here, then you know that we are huge fans of sleep sacks. For the winter months we like to stock up on these fleece ones. They keep Elle warm and promote a safer sleep.

SNOWSUIT

Elle was too little last winter to play in the snow, but this year she is finally old enough. We got her a waterproof snowsuit for this season, but last winter we were huge fans of this sherpa onesie.

WINTER HAT & MITTENS

This is obviously a no brainer. A winter hat is essential for the colder months and buybuy BABY has a great selection for both girls and boys. There are lots of cute sets that should last you all winter long.

OOGIEBEAR

We love this little stick for cleaning out Elle’s nose. There are two different ends that help remove mucus and boogers from her nose. Seriously it’s a great tool that you will use often.

FLEECE BOOTIES

My daughter lived in these last winter. I feel like her shoes and booties were always falling off, but these were perfect. They have velcro and will never fall off which is great! They also help keep you kid’s feet toasty and warm.

NOSEFRIDA

The Nosefrida is another great tool for colds. We got one of those bulbs from the hospital, but this is way better. It is usually a baby registry favorite and something that will get used a lot, especially in the winter months.

HUMIDIFIER

This one didn’t make it on the collage, but is an absolute must! There are a lot of different humidifiers out there, but we have had great luck with the Crane Ultrasonic Cool Mist Drop . It comes in a bunch of different colors and is really easy to clean and operate.

Hope this post was helpful! For more informative baby posts, feel free to check out my motherhood tab here. I realize I’m a first time mom, but have learned a lot and love sharing my knowledge with all of you. Have an amazing winter and make sure to keep your little ones warm!

This is SO incredibly helpful for me, girl! I’ve saved this and will definitely be purchasing these products. I have the Uppa Baby, too, so I’m glad you mentioned this one. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a great rest of the week!

Aww, your daughter is so cute! 🙂

This post just makes me glad we don’t live in a cold country though, haha! We had one of those stroller covers that came with the stroller and travel capsule so we used it a couple of times, but we didn’t need anything overly cosy or fleece lined. Mostly keeping baby in a couple of layers and babywearing so they are close to you is all you need in Brisbane, especially with my youngest when we had autumn heatwaves and a very mild winter, haha!

Hope you are having a great weekend! With all of the gifts bought and wrapped I’m enjoying a last quiet day before all the Christmas festivities begin, I’m so looking forward to Christmas!
