5 ACHIEVABLE FITNESS GOALS FOR FALL

Thank you prAna for sponsoring this post.

Each new season brings a great time to press the reset button on all aspects of life. I am constantly trying to up my fitness routine, but don’t want to put too much pressure on the situation. As a full time mom, I need to set aside time to work on myself too. Today I teamed up with prAna’s sustainable clothing line to share 5 super easy fitness motivators you can easily work into your schedule for fall.

prAna designs clothing that looks good, and are versatile enough for any lifestyle and any adventure. I feel like I can wear their clothes for a workout, on a walk with Elle, and just while running around doing my daily errands. Both their leggings and this wrap sweater are super soft and extremely comfortable. prAna’s mission is to give people the option of reaching into their closet and dressing in items that reflect who they are.

While prAna clothing is made to accommodate any adventure, the items are first and foremost mindfully made in order to support fair trade and sustainable practices. prAna actually has only one core belief, and that is to give back more than we take from the world. I absolutely love that mission and that is why I chose to work with this brand on today’s post.

I feel like my five fitness goals below are totally achievable and easy to implement into any lifestyle. They are small tweaks you can make in order to live your life to the fullest. If I can do it with a 9 month old baby, then you can too!

1. HEAD OUTSIDE

The weather in Chicago during the fall is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! It is usually in the 60s which is ideal for me. I have always been a huge fan of walking so if the weather cooperates then I plan on doing more outside adventures with Elle. More walking, playground visits, and running errands. She is currently a huge fan of her stroller and loves being out in the fresh air too so it works out perfectly for both of us.

2. MEAL PLAN

I always strive hard to make healthier dinners for not only myself, but for my family too. A lot of times when 5PM rolls around I find myself with no idea of what to cook. We end up waiting until Elle is asleep to figure out our dinner plans and they usually end up being quick and easy solutions that are not always the healthiest.

This fall I need to do more meal planning in advance so that I can have a healthy dinner on the table. When I’m looking for recipes to try, I always love turning to Pinterest for help. I plan on making some of these Healthy Grain Bowl Recipes I rounded up last week as well as using my crockpot to make some of these Slow Cooker Recipes. Also if you have a grill then these Healthy Grilling Recipes would work too!

3. DRESS THE PART

As we all know I’m a huge fan of fashion so if I need to get my fitness on then I must dress the part too! Lately I have been LOVING prAna’s sustainable clothing line. They offer sustainable, recycled, fair trade certified and hemp items. You can learn about Why Organic Cotton Matters here. Also all my readers get 15% off with code F17CGSK at checkout. This code will be active until November 22nd. In my photos I am wearing these leggings and this sweater.

4. TRY SOMETHING NEW

I am known to be a creature of habit and don’t love going outside my comfort zone. I’m also not very athletic, but I am trying to get better at this! Each season I like to try to push myself to try out at least one new fitness class. Previously I have loved the Mommy & Me classes at Studio Three, but also plan on trying Orange Theory Fitness because I’ve heard so many great things!

5. MEATLESS MEALS

I’ve been doing some reading, watching a few documentaries lately like What the Health, and becoming more aware of the background behind a vegan lifestyle. I am going to be honest with you and let you know that I am kind of into it. I love cheeseburgers, and am a huge fan of seafood and fish, but would love to minimize the amount I eat. I not only feel bad for the animals, but also the process that goes on behind it. Lately I have been trying to make more plant-based vegetarian meals {which by the way my husband is so not into…men love their meat!}. My goal this fall is to try to eat vegetarian {and ideally vegan} at least 3 days a week, which I believe is totally achievable.

This sounds amazing. You’re such an inspiration dear. Indeed, we should constantly challenge ourselves to be better. Also, couldnt agree more about meal plans. We can’t out train a bad diet, so the best way to get in shape and reach our fitness goals starts with the food we take.
