MY FIRST MOTHER’S DAY

This year Mother’s Day is extra special because it will be my first time celebrating as an actual mom. I had my sweet baby girl Elle back in December and time has flown by. I can’t believe she is already 5 months old! At first I must admit it was hard adjusting to this tiny new person in my life, but honestly motherhood is the best thing ever. I love it so much and have never been happier.

I might be bias, but Elle is such a good baby. She is so mellow and easy going {which I am not…ha!}. She is a great sleeper and sometimes sleeps through the night…but not all nights so don’t get too jealous.

Elle is always smiling and laughing. She loves dancing, listening to music, and when I sing to her. She has been working hard on her tummy time and is now learning how to sit up on her own.

Elle is also quite the fashionista and loves to play dress up. You might have seen some of her #OOTDs on my Instagram Stories. Just like her mama, she loves all things pink and leopard :-). I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better baby.

I always spend Mother’s Day with my family of course and it almost always entails brunch. This year I teamed up with  JAM Cellars Butter Chardonnay to show you how to put together an effortlessly elegant tablescape and menu for this special occasion.

When hosting a party, I find that keeping it simple and fun is key. I always like to focus on serving 4 items {3 homemade and 1 store bought}. I usually do as much planning and prepping ahead of time and like to decorate using festive colors and fresh flowers. For fun printed tablecloths, I turn to my closet a lot of times and use a scarf I already have.

This year for the menu I went with an egg + veggie casserole, smoked salmon tea sandwiches, fresh fruit kabobs, and some store bought black and white cookies for dessert. All the items I could prep ahead of time and just plate and heat up once the guests arrive.

We love our wine and went with a tasty  JAM Cellars Butter Chardonnay. It pairs perfectly with the menu and is an easy to love, great everyday wine. It truly is the best Chardonnay for under $20. JaM Cellars makes three easy-to-love, everyday California wines: Butter Chardonnay, JaM Cabernet and Toast Sparkling. They are all made in the tradition of great California winemaking—rich, bold and luscious.
