5-fitness-goals-for-2017-1

My goal is always to live a healthy lifestyle and since I packed on so many pounds during my pregnancy, I’m already thinking about what I’m going to be doing to get back into shape. I have one more week until my due date so I’m beginning to brainstorm a list of 5 fitness goals for 2017.

For me, I think it all starts with a combination of eating right and exercising. During winter months it can be especially hard to motivate yourself to exercise…especially when it is so cold outside! As for the eating right part, I plan on making healthier choices and cooking calorie conscious meals. I’m going to try my hardest guys and this blog post and list below will help me hold myself accountable for achieving my goals. Now, onto the list…

1. TRY OUT NEW WORKOUTS
There is no time like the new year to start something fresh and fun. I’ve always wanted to try pilates and I’m not the best at yoga, but would love to get back into it. I plan to workout at least 4-5 times a week and if I don’t go to the gym, the least I can do is take the baby for a walk. I also always think that grabbing a friend and doing it together makes it way more fun and helps pass the time.

2. COOK HEALTHY RECIPES
As I said above, it is always about a good balance between working out and eating right. I already love to cook so I think it will be fun to test out new healthier recipes. Since the internet holds a wealth of knowledge and there are currently so many amazing food blogs out there, I plan on doing some research. I might even write a blog post on some great new recipes I find.

3. DRINK MORE WATER
Drinking more water and staying hydrated is super important. It can help with your skin, circulation, and even weight loss by making you feel full. I plan on cutting out all juices and sugary sodas from my diet and just sticking with water. You can even spice things up with sparkling water or adding sliced lemons, berries, or cucumbers to amp up the flavor.

4. NEW WORKOUT CLOTHES
When you look good then you feel good, right? I’ve decided that if my old workout clothes don’t fit then I’ll just have to invest in some new ones. Currently there are so many affordable brands out there creating athletic wear, it will be so easy to find some new stylish outfits. I even just snagged this cute pair of sneakers during the Black Friday sales so I am ready to go.

5. MEATLESS MONDAYS
I always hear about people doing this and I am excited to try it out. To help me get on this bandwagon, I’m going to turn to MorningStar Farms® Veggie Bowls. They are not only for vegetarians, but great for everyone. It’s a perfect option for families, busy working people, and anyone who is health-conscious. They are quick, easy, and will easily help me on my healthier lifestyle journey. My personal favorite is the Chik’n Pot Pie, but feel free to check out the variety of flavors here. Make sure to check them out! I was able to pick mine up at Jewel.

Yes I know… these photos were all taken pre-pregnancy, but they are such great motivation so I had to use them! What are some fitness goals you have for yourself for 2017? I would love to hear!

This is a great list of goals! I love to run outdoors and now that it’s getting cold I’ll have to dust off the treadmill in the basement. I’m sure you’re going to bounce right back in no time.

Good for you, lady! New (and cute!) workout clothes can be really motivating, for sure. I always find that my fitness is best when I’m doing workouts/exercises I truly enjoy. There’s so many different ways to be active, why do something you don’t like! Thanks for inspiring me to start thinking of my 2017 goals!

Great goals! I’m a huge fan of drinking lots of water all day. It makes me feel way more energetic and seems to help my skin too. Good luck

    Have a great week!
