BRUNCHIN’ WITH MODERNPLUM

The other weekend my husband was out of town so I thought it was the perfect time to host a brunch for some of my girlfriends. I got a little help with the decor from Modernplum. The company is based out of Chicago and produces the most luxurious linen products including bedding, accent pillows, throws, runners, tablecloths, and napkins. I went for the Sabine runner & matching napkins. I chose this specific design because of  the earthy colors and how easy it would be to dress up or down depending on the occasion. I was super impressed with the quality and my guests were too. I went for a casual modern vibe for my party and included my everyday plates {I also have the matching bowls + salad plates} and flatware {with matching serving pieces}. I also used these placemats underneath because I have a glass table, but if  you have a wood table then there is no need  for any placemats at all.

For the menu I went with the theme of light and healthy. I chose to serve a fruit salad {consisting of strawberries, pineapple, blueberries, and kiwi}, this delicious egg casserole {that I switched up a bit by adding fresh spinach, mushrooms, and less butter- trying to keep it healthy people 😉 }, and lastly a simple salad {with arugula, spinach leaves, grape tomatoes, and feta cheese}. For the salad dressing I like to always create my own and this simple recipe is a fan favorite: 2 parts olive oil, 1 part balsamic vinegar, 1 dollop of dijon mustard, some salt & pepper.  Mix it all up and there you go.

The brunch was a huge success thanks to the easy menu and beautiful decor provided by Modernplum. I’m a huge fan of entertaining and realize that keeping it simple and casual makes it fun for all. Also I’ve been working on my photography skills and snapped some pics. What do you all think?

Wonderful looking table dressing. The neutral tones are fantastic. Might I also add, I love your over-sized mantle. That really allows you to put sizable pieces there. The fireplace is gas correct? It’s really nice and brings great visual interest in how the did a build-out for it. To whomever thought of that, great creative design.
