This past weekend I had the chance to hang out with Nicole of Lady Luxe For Less. We originally met when we both were featured in Crain’s Chicago Business {Nicole’s article + mine} and also when we appeared on Windy City Live together. Nicole is quite the fashionista and has a knack for finding fabulous affordable pieces. Check out a fun photo shoot + interview I did with Nicole below.
1. WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO START A BLOG?
I wanted to show people that there is a cost-friendly alternative for everything, and that a great outfit can be achieved regardless of price point. Believe it or not, a lot of people don’t think this is possible!
2. HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME LADY LUXE FOR LESS?
I wanted the name of my blog to clearly, but cleverly capture the purpose of my blog. It was very important to me that my blog name highlight and emphasize my focus on attainable and affordable fashion, as well as my appreciation for a high-quality look.
3. WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE RESTAURANTS IN CHICAGO?
Summer House, Mirai Sushi, The Dawson, Gilt Bar, Fig & Olive
4. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?
Feminine, Fun, & Colorful
5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TREND FOR FALL/WINTER AND WHY?
I’m obsessed with pastels! I love the way they soften heavy fabrics and textures, and add an overall sense of femininity to any look. And, I’m crazy about capes (especially this Burberry look-a-like that I just got for less than $40!).

Thanks so much Becky. Plaid is always a great fall staple to turn to.
I’m loving pastels right now, too! Pairing light pink and navy together is my favorite 🙂
Great idea Jess! I need to start working that trend into my wardrobe and might need to give the pink + navy look a try!
You two look amazing & I am LIVING for your blanket scarf. Holy crap, that looks comfy. I would wrap it around my whole face!
Thanks Hollie! IT IS. You need one ASAP, Perfect for a Chicago winter 😉
Absolutely love both of your outfits! Especially that scarf! The bigger the scarf, the better in my opinion. Especially in Chicago!
Totally agree with you Caitlin. I am thinking I need another color too!
