This past weekend I got together with Sara of Project Soiree. We discussed favorite spots in Chicago, our love for midi skirts, and her fun job at WhatRUWearing. Check out our pictures and interview below…
1.) What made you want to start a blog?
I was inspired by local Chicago fashion bloggers to start writing Project Soiree. I thought to myself “I could do that” so while I was snowed in during the famous snowpocalypse in Chicago, I started my blog.
2.) How did you come up with the name Project Soiree?
I wanted my blog to be evolving with my life, which is how I came up with “Project.” I also wanted to create a space that celebrated the things I love which led me to “Soiree.” Project Soiree is my little space to grow and learn and celebrate my favorite things in life.
Narrowing down my favorite restaurants in Chicago is super tough, but I love Mon Ami Gabi on a summer night enjoying a glass of champagne on their patio. I’m also a huge fan of Summer House (I’m always craving their Apple Oatmeal Cookie) and Perennial Virant has an incredible brunch.
4.) How would you describe your style?
My style is classic with a twist. I’m not afraid to try new trends, but I’ll always stick to the signature basics. I love wearing a simple white t-shirt with jeans or leather pants and statement heels.
5.) Fill me in on WhatRUWearing?
I work full time at WhatRUWearing – a social networking site/app for fashion lovers. With WhatRUWearing you can upload your daily outfit, get advice on what shoes to wear for date night, or browse the latest looks for inspiration. You can also find fun events throughout Chicago in our Social Calendar and read up on some of our favorite things on The Blog.
6.) What is your favorite trend for spring?
My favorite trend for spring is the romper. I’m on the hunt for a silk floral one!
