This past weekend I got together with Erica of Sweet Endeavors. We discussed how much we are over this Chicago winter and how excited we are for spring! Check out some black + white inspired looks and an interview with Erica below.

1. WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO START A BLOG?
I started Sweet Endeavors as a creative outlet. I started my blog around the time I graduated college and was at a job that wasn’t as creative as I wanted it to be. My degree is in communications and I love to write and I love fashion, so I thought I would start one. And it’s been so fun!
2. HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME SWEET ENDEAVORS?
Coming up with a blog name was one of the hardest things for me! I wanted to have a name that could be universal enough and could make sense with any type of posts (fashion, food, random stories). After a lot of brainstorming I thought of sweet endeavors, and thought it was pretty, so I went with it!
3. WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE STORES AND RESTAURANTS IN CHICAGO?
This is hard one for my to answer, since I JUST moved to Chicago two months ago. I have been so impressed with so many shops and restaurants (and can’t wait for warm weather to explore even more). As far as shopping goes, I am so happy to live in a city that has a Top Shop, Zara and Madewell (instead of having to shop online all the time). I also have really enjoyed the cute boutiques on Armitage! The food-scene here is incredible and I have had so many good meals. For pizza, I loved Pequod’s. And brunch is my FAVORITE meal and I loved 25 Degrees. OH, and I loved Crosby’s Kitchen too, their cornbread is unbelievable.
4. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?
I would describe my style as classic with pops of trendy pieces. My go-to look is a really great-fitting pair of dark denim (DL’s are my current fave) with a white tee, heeled booties and a big, bright colorful piece of jewelry. I love the statement necklace’s from J. Crew.
5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TREND FOR SPRING?
I cannot wait for the weather to warm up! It’s all I can think about. I can’t wait to wear jumpsuits and rompers this spring and summer. I picture a really simple, all-black jumpsuit for a night out (I’m loving the jumpsuits on ASOS). And, for the day, a cute, bright-patterned romper (Forever 21 has some cute options). Now, Chicago just needs to give us some nice weather! 🙂
