FLOWER POWER // WALTON & RUSH

This past weekend I got together with Emily and Devin of Walton & Rush. We met up at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel to discuss favorite spring trends and what we love about Chicago. We are ready for this winter to come to an end and are excited about incorporating bright pops of florals into our wardrobe. Check out our style and interview below.

PS: Also don’t forget to click on over to Walton & Rush to see more pics and an interview I did with these lovely ladies!

1. WHAT MADE YOU GUYS WANT TO START A BLOG?
Emily: Ya know, we’re sisters… we work together, we live together… Why not blog together?

Devin: I have always been obsessed with fashion… seriously, ask my dad. He’ll show you the receipts! No, but seriously, fashion has always been important to me.. My style through the years was always pretty bold and I wanted to wear whatever everyone else wasn’t wearing. In highschool, I started designing my own prom dresses and had more retail jobs than I could count. Throughout the years, I’ve definitely been complimented for my unique sense of style. When Em decided to move to Chicago after college, there were 2 things that were for certain: we’d be living together and we’d be shopping together. The blog only seemed natural after that.

2. HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH THE NAME WALTON & RUSH?
Emily: We chose Walton & Rush because we really wanted a name that everyone associated with Chicago, and one that we wouldn’t get sick of.. Plus, the Gold Coast has some of the best fashion boutiques, right?

Devin: These two streets, in my opinion, are all that is wonderful about Chicago’s fashion scene.

3. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE IN THE GOLD COAST?
Emily: My absolute favorite restaurant in the Gold Coast is Tavern on Rush. During the summer, I love having brunch on their patio. The atmosphere is great! They make it look absolutely adorable with their big yellow umbrellas and their hanging flower boxes. I can’t ever get enough!

Devin: Tavern on Rush is divine and I adore Ted Baker

4. WHAT IS ONE THING IN YOUR CLOSET THAT YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT?
Emily: I can’t live without my ripped AG boyfriend jeans. They’re so comfy! Can’t wait to pull them out again soon!

Devin: Currently, a vintage fur that my aunt gave me! It’s been so cold!

5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TREND FOR SPRING?
Emily: My favorite trend for spring is florals. I love absolutely everything about the floral trend. I’m excited to mix florals in a few different ways.. It’ll be fun to mix them with leather for an edgier look, or pair it with something super feminine and girly.

Devin: Pastels! I absolutely love wearing light colors, especially lavender! They make me feel super feminine.

THANKS FOR THE CHAT LADIES 😉
