Though the current temperature in Chicago (and much of the country) warrants nothing less than full-on socks, boots, maybe another pair of socks (maybe some legwarmers, tights, long underwear, etc), we can start looking forward to spring with this particular trend. “D’Orsay” is a style of shoe that features a full pointed toe cut away from the back of the shoe, revealing a lot of side-foot. If the shape is a little too “elvish” for you, try a pair with a shorter vamp (front of the shoe) or a heel or ankle-strap. D’Orsay flats look great with cropped or full-length skinny pants or jeans, and the heeled version complements a cuffed boyfriend style. While Jenni Kayne is the designer most known for making this style of shoe popular (and offers the most color and texture options), there are certainly multiple styles, fabric, and price alternatives out there. Of the many Kayne versions available, I love the tougher-looking hardware ones like THESE and color-blocking/prints like THESE.
